Official Review: Hot Octopuss Pulse II Duo

The Hot Octopuss Pulse II Duo Review

I was very excited when I was given the opportunity to review the Pulse II Duo from Hot Octopuss! This is a high end multi-functioning product that has many uses and is very complex to review.  If you aren’t familiar with Hot Octopuss, they designed the world’s first “Guybrator” in the award winning Pulse, and the Pulse II Duo is the next generation model.  The Pulse II comes in the Solo and Duo models depending on your intended use.

More than a Toy

While being a solo and couples toy, there are some other facts that have me very intrigued by the Pulse II technology.  First of all, you do not need to have an erection to use it.  This is fun as the Pulse II will give you an erection while using it, but it is also great for anyone struggling with erectile dysfunction.  The oscillating vibration technology  can help give erections as well as trigger an involuntary ejaculation.   The Pulse technology also has been used to help those with disabilities, including  amputation, arthritis, cerebral palsy, cerebrovascular disease, motor neurone disease, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s Disease, to name just a few.  I think this is fantastic! Well done Hot Octopuss, you can ready more about Aged and Medical uses here.

The Pulse II models are covered in 100% silicone so they are also 100% waterproof.  This makes clean up a breeze and can be a fun toy to use in the shower alone or together.  It has flexible wings for the penis, so it can fit around either a flaccid or erect penis.  Within the Pulse II there is an oscillating PulsePlate which provides amazing stimulation.  There are buttons on either side of the Pulse II, one for power and vibrating patterns on the left side, and two (+/-) buttons to control intensity on the right side.  The Pulse II Duo also includes a remote to activate and control the external vibrator for clitoral stimulation and couples play.  When I received the Pulse II Duo, I made sure to charge it for the recommended 4 hours (wow, that was a long wait!) and as with all silicone toys, only use water based lube. It also comes with a storage bag for the Pulse II and the remote if you purchase the Duo.

Pulsing Alone

Up to this point, none of the products I’ve reviewed have been designed for male solo play. My mission is to pleasure my wife and share these toys as couples, but honestly it was fun to be a little selfish for once.  I’ve also always been intrigued by a truly “hands free” orgasm. The Pulse II contains five vibration patterns and several intensities (available each pattern).  I used this product in every way possible!  I enjoyed using it starting flaccid, and it never took long for me to be fully erect once I started the Pulse II.  You can use the Pulse II “dry” and just let the vibrations do all the work.  This is my preferred method because A) it’s a different sensation for orgasms, B) you’re free to let the machine do its job and you can stimulate other areas of while in use, and C) it’s less clean up.  The sleeve can also be used with water based lube as and stroked traditionally with the vibrations on.

I enjoyed all the patterns at one point or another.  I wasn’t really able to experience a true “hands free” orgasm as I had to hold the Pulse II in position for the oscillating plate to do its best work.  I typically used the Pulse II in a sitting position, but in a standing or laying position I also needed to use my hand for the best stimulation. I generally started at a low intensity, but once fully erect I stayed engaged on the highest setting.  I do wish there was one more level of intensity to help put me “over the top” but the Pulse II never failed.   I also engaged the second motor a few times while using the Pulse II solo, and it definitely adds more sensation to the vibrations.

PULSE II Duo-ing

Shortly after I received the Pulse II Duo delivery, I had a vasectomy.  I hope to write an entire article about that experience, but this product has been great in the recovery process.  My semen will be tested 30 days after my surgery, and it is recommended that I achieve around 15 ejaculations before providing my sample.  I would like to achieve this goal (who wouldn’t?!) and my wife is on board with that as well.  The Pulse II Duo has been a great help in this process! Whether it’s me using the product solo, or engaging with my wife, the Pulse is fun to use and if she’s not in the mood for intercourse, it’s easier for her to do than a basic hand job.

Using the external vibrations as a couple was fun as well! I recommend using the Pulse Duo II for foreplay or if intercourse isn’t your main goal.  The Pulse II DUO felt great against me while I pushed against her clitoral area from missionary and cowgirl positions.  If your partner requires pin point stimulation, this product may not bring her to full orgasm, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have fun with it! It was very fun to use the product together! She enjoyed grinding on the vibrations from on top, just beware of your aim before the male climaxes (you could shoot your eye out!) The buttons on the Pulse II Duo itself require a hard push, so I recommend having your desired setting on before engaging in couples play.  The remote for the external motor works great.  It can be fun for either partner to be in control, as with any remote controlled product.  Most couples probably can’t use the Pulse II Duo while engaging in intercourse, as it is rather large.  I can see it possible for larger men, but I consider myself average and it wasn’t really an option for us.

Our Take

The Pulse II Duo is a great product that can be more than a toy, but an aid for those with physical restraints when it comes to erectile dysfunction or other needs.  It’s can be loads of fun for a man to use by himself or fun to use together in single or dual stimulation.  I recommend charging it after each use as it seems to loose intensity in 45 minutes to an hour, depending on your intensities and number of motors running.  The rechargeable design with silicone covering is great for use and cleanup, and a nontoxic product.  I have not used the first Pulse, but from what I understand this design is a true upgrade with features, such as the external remote and silicone covering.  The buttons are a little hard to push, but it wasn’t a problem in solo use.  I do recommend using your preferred setting from the get go before engaging in dual stimulation.  This is a great product from Hot Octopuss and I can’t wait to see what they come up with next!

I would like to thank Hot Octopuss  for providing the Puse II Duo for review and the above diagrams. I have submitted an honest and non biased review of this product based on personal trial and experience
